We are thrilled to announce that ZLaunchy for Android 1.1 has been released today! It is now available from both our website and Android Market. Read more to find out about main differences between 1.0 and 1.1.
Â
Here are the main improvements and changes in 1.1 release compared to 1.0:
- Search in contacts' email address and telephone numbers and application's package name
It is now possible to enable/disable searching in package's name and contact's telephone numbers and email addresses - useful if you know part of a number
- QWERTY search for devices with physical keyboard
For devices such as HTC Desire Z or Motorola Droid/Milestone it is possible to use hardware keyboard for searching - when typing numbers, search behaves same as from keypad; when entering at least 1 letter, search is done using text mode, not T9
- Ability to dial number
You can now just type a phone number and you can call it directly from ZLaunchy
- "0" button added on the on-screen keypad
This is mainly useful for looking up phone numbers or calling someone; "0" is put on he right in portrait mode and below "8" in landscape mode
- Application  details can now be shown on all Android versions
Previously showing package details was only available on Android 2.3 and above; now it is supported on all Android 2.x releases
- Preferences for global settings and profiles
ZLaunchy provides up to 3 profiles - you can now configure searching only for contacts, applications or both; you can also use different search modes in different profiles; profiles can be switched using left/right swipe gestue and "P" button on the keypad There are also few global configuration options with more options coming soon as we progress with 1.2
- Better APK install/uninstall integration
ZLaunchy can scan for new or removed packages just after (un)installation, without waiting for ZLaunchy to be run This is configurable using the Refresh items when inactive option and is disabled by defaultÂ
As usual, you can download ZLaunchy from Android Market and our website.
